NBA betting action for Saturday takes us out west to the Energy Solutions Arena in Salt Lake City where the bumbling New Jersey Nets take on the Utah Jazz. Jazz have won 6 of their L8 SU as they try to hang on to a playoff spot in the ridiculously tough NBA Western Conference. New Jersey, on the other hand, is just a bad team. The Nets have lost 10 straight and 17 of 18. Their lone victory was against their local rival the New York Knicks. Can you say mismatch?
NEW JERSEY NETS VS. UTAH JAZZ
The New Jersey Nets don’t have a lot of talent but what’s even more disturbing is that they play as if they’d decided to not exert an effort until they move into their (proposed) new arena in Brooklyn. In addition to their string of straight up losses they’ve only covered 6 of their last 18. Considering that they’re a huge underdog every night that means that more often than not they not only lose, but lose in a non-competitive fashion. Overall for the season, the Nets are a pitiful 13-29 ATS meaning that just by betting against them every night you’ve made a nice profit.
They’re getting a ton of points as they head to Salt Lake City to play the Jazz, but it may not be enough. In addition to playing in the unfamiliar altitude of the Wasatch Front they also have to content with the home team who as everyone knows is one of the best in the NBA on their own floor. Jazz are 16-6 SU/14-7-1 ATS at the Energy Solutions Arena. The Jazz have dominated the Eastern Conference this year, going 13-5 SU/12-5-1 ATS. Deron Williams is back in the lineup for Utah and making things worse for the Nets (as if that were really possible) they’ll be without Devin Harris here. Jazz beat the Nets by 16 on the road earlier this season and there’ s really nothing in the matchup or current form of the teams to suggest that they won’t do it again–but worse–here. Jazz can name the score, but we’ll look for a 20+ point win and cover.
