It’s that time again! Time for Monday night football and this week we have yet another epic matchups between two teams that will do anything to get back into the playoff conversation! Joe Flacco and the Baltimore Ravens travel to Lambeau Field to face off against Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers.
Coming into this week both the Baltimore Ravens and the Green Bay Packers have had good seasons, but by no means the kind of season they were expecting as they will have to be a Wildcard team to clinch a playoff berth after the Cincinnati Bengals and the Minnesota Vikings have basically already clinched the AFC and NFC North divisions. With that being said these two teams will have to win as many games as possible from here on out to hold off playoff contender in their conferences. After this games against the Baltimore Ravens, the Green Bay Packers will have two more tough teams to get through in the last four games. Their matchups against the Chicago Bears (week 13) and Seattle Seahawks (week 16) should be relatively easy games for Aaron Rodgers and company, but the other two games against the Pittsburgh Steelers (week 15) and Arizona Cardinals (week 17) will be competitive to say the least. Before any of those games take place, the Packers will have to get passed Ray Lewis and the Ravens defense first.
To be honest, the Ravens 6-5 record does not do them justice. Not only have the Ravens been able to stay dominant on the defensive side of the football once again this season with linebacker Ray Lewis and safety Ed Reed staring down quarterbacks in the secondary, but the Baltimore offense has finally been able to become a force to be reckoned with in the NFL.Last season rookie quarterback Joe Flacco played brilliantly as he led the team to the playoffs, but this season he has really out down himself by becoming one the best young quarterbacks in this league. The Ravens may have an umimpressive 6-5 record thus far, but they have had arguably one of the toughest schedules in the league this season playing some of the best teams in the NFL week in and week out.
This game can go either way and I could easily see the Ravens or the Packers coming out on top as they are both capable, but unfortunately for the Ravens the scales seem to be tilted in Green Bay’s favor for a few reasons.
One, they are playing at Lambeau Field. Two, the Ravens defense is banged up with both Ray Lewis and Ed Reed playing with injuries. And finally, the Packers are just the all around better team right now after winning three straight games.
This game has the potential of going down to the wire, but in the end I think Aaron Rodgers will lead his Green Bay Packers to victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Wisconsin on Monday night.
