Just a couple weeks ago, Torre announced his retirement a couple weeks ago, and the Dodgers have turned the reigns over to hitting coach Don Mattingly. The Dodgers have been a disappointment this season, starting with the offense that is batting just .252 as a team. Andre Ethier leads the team with a .287 batting average, along with 23 homeruns. Hikoki Kuroda will make the start for the Dodgers. The 35 year old from Japan is 11-13 on the season with an earned run average of 3.27. In his last start, Kuroda went eight innings, allowing five hits and a run in the win over the Padres.

Colorado will send left hander Jeff Francis to the mound. Francis is 4-6 with a 4.71 earned run average on the season. In his career, the 29 year old is 55-50. In his last start, Francis went just 3.2 innings at Arizona, losing the game 10-9.
