Preview: The New York Yankees and Texas Rangers will play the final game of a weekend series in Arlington on Sunday. Coming into Saturday’s game, the Yankees were 33 games above .500, while the Rangers were 15. Both teams appear to be heading to the postseason in 2010. The Rangers came away with a win in extra innings on Friday night, after Nelson Cruz tied the game, and won the game with a solo homerun. New York comes into Saturday’s action one game ahead of the Rays in the American League East. The Yankees rank 6th in MLB in batting (.269) and 3rd in homeruns (174). Robinson Cano leads the team with a .317 batting average, while Mark Teixeira has blasted 30 homeruns and Alex Rodriguez has drove in 102 runs. New York is going to send youngster Dustin Moseley to the mound in just his 8th start of the season. The 28 year old from Texas is 4-2 on the season and 12-9 in his pitching career.

Pitching for the Rangers will be veteran left hander Cliff Lee. The Texas staff ace is 10-8 on the season with a 3.37 earned run average. Lee has not won a start since August 6th in Oakland. He was skipped his last time out, not making a start since August 31st in Kansas City. Texas comes into Saturday’s game with a 7.5 game cushion in the American League West. The A’s are in second place, and appear to be no threat for the Rangers. Josh Hamilton is having a monster season for the Rangers, but is currently injured and not playing in games. Hamilton is batting .361 with 31 homeruns, giving him a legitimate shot at American League MVP.
