Ever since 2003, the NBA has been chalk full of talent as we saw superstars like Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh, Carmelo Anthony and most notably LeBron James emerge as the new elite class of player in the league.
Only one of these four players have actually won an NBA title during their short time in the league and Dwyane Wade was able to lead his Miami Heat to their first NBA title in franchise history in 2006 against the Dallas Mavericks. Despite Bosh, Anthony and LeBron not being able to win that elusive NBA title, all three of these players have completely turn around their franchise’s and will be forces to be reckoned with in they decide to call it a career.
Even though Dwyane Wade has the ring, LeBron James has the best team and is arguably the best all around players and as a result has won two straight NBA MVP awards.
Last season the Cleveland Cavaliers burst on the scene and quickly became arguably the best team in the league as they made easier work of their opponents throughout the NBA regular season. The Cavs were so dominant at home last season, that they lost just two games all season long at Quickens Loans Arena with the second lose being the last game of the season when Mike Brown rested all his starters.
This season the Cavs have picked up where they left off as they have had another extremely successful regular season and as a result headed into the playoffs as the number one overall seed and a first round matchup with the Chicago Bulls.
Not only have the Cavs basically had a repeat performance of last season, but LeBron James has only gotten better as he has transformed into a dominant player on the defensive end of the floor as well.
With impressive numbers once again, LeBron James has won his second straight NBA MVP by averaging 29.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 8.6 assists per game. LeBron may have come just shy of the scoring title which went to the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Kevin Durant, but he is becoming more and more regarded as arguably the best player in the league.
