Larry Johnson: Apology Pro

I bet Larry Johnson feels pretty awesome about himself after issuing his second public apology within the last year.

The Kansas City Chiefs running back was ordered to steer clear of the team while the NFL completes their investigation into his use of a gay slur.  A national gay rights advocacy organization was not impressed with his actions either, calling on not only the Chiefs organization, but the league to discipline the two-time Pro Bowler.

Sunday night he questioned Todd Haley’s football-coaching skills via his Twitter account, which (surprise!) is now private:

A day later, he used the same slur as he brushed off reporters and refused to comment.

“I’m not talking till Thursday. Get your faggot ass out of here.”

Remember last year when some lady accused him of throwing a drink on her and then another woman said he pushed her? The apologies sounded eerily similar. You know, “we all make mistakes, I’m a sucky role model, etc.”

Lesson learned? Apparently not.

Johnson, who needs only 75 more yards rushing to become the Chiefs’ all-time leader, was told by the team he would not be allowed to practice or participate in team activities until the matter was resolved. However, he has not officially been suspended.

Note to LJ: Next time you have an issue with the way your team is being coached, save your criticism for a face-to-face rather than air your dirty laundry for the entire internet to read. I know it takes balls, but apparently you’re incredibly confident in your manhood, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
