Golf Free Picks
This weekend features two more great golf tournaments: the top three golfers in the world will tee off together at the Dubai Desert Classic, and Dustin Johnson will try to win the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am for the third straight year. Last week, we bounced back and went 7-2-2, bringing our record for 2011 up to 28-14-6. This week, we’ll try to keep the ball rolling with nine more matchups:
2011 Dubai Desert Classic Head to Head Odds
Tiger Woods, USA (3) -105 vs. Martin Kaymer, Germany (2) -125
Tiger’s won twice before in Dubai, but since his return at last year’s Masters, he hasn’t done well at tournaments where he’s had past success. Kaymer almost missed the cut last week, but I expect him to settle down and play pretty well, and almost certainly better than Tiger.
Our Pick: KAYMER.
This weekend features two more great golf tournaments: the Farmer’s Insurance Open, where Tiger Woods will be making his 2011 debut, and the Volvo Golf Champions, the first-ever European Tour event in Bahrain. Last week, we went a respectable 7-3-1 in our head-to-head picks to improve to 16-6-4 on the year. This week, we’ll try to do even better with eleven more marvelous matchups:
2011 Farmers Insurance Open Tournament Head to Head Odds & Picks
Tiger Woods, USA (World Ranking: 3) -250 vs. Phil Mickelson, USA (6) +180
Tiger’s coming off an eight-week layoff since losing in a playoff to Graeme McDowell at the Chevron World Challenge — Tiger’s best result in over a year. Mickelson played last week in Abu Dhabi and wasn’t impressive with a T37 finish. Both have won a lot at this tournament, but Tiger more recently in 2008.
After picking a lot of winning bets in the NBA lately we lost our play of the day on the 20th of January as the Mavericks vs. Bulls game didn’t reach enough points scored to cover our over bet.
Today we will get our play of the day from round 3 of the Bob Hope Classic were we think we have found a good bet in Bubba Watson to beat John Senden during the third round of play.
Our Bet: Bubba Watson to beat John Senden during round 3 of the Bob Hope Classic
Odds: -130 (1.76) at BetUS
Stake: $100
Result: Watson – PAR and Senden +5
Profit/Loss This Bet: +$76
Profit Loss This Year: +$40
Number of bets won this year: 12
Number of bets lost this year: 9
We have been running pretty bad lately and yesterday we managed to find yet another losing pick. But that’s what it’s like sometimes when it comes to sports betting and now we will be doing our best try break this bad spell and move on to a hot streak similar to the one we had at the start of the year.
Today we think we have found a decent bet during the first round of the 2011 Sony Open which is one of the more interesting events on the PGA Tour. The three ball match up that caught our attention was Byrd Jonathan – Els Ernie – Furyk Jim where the internet sportsbook Expekt.com are offering the odds of +155 (2.55) on a Furyk win.
Our Bet: Jim Furyk to beat Byrd and Els during the first round of the Sony Open
