Gilbert Arenas and Javaris Crittenton Suspended for the Rest of the Season

It seemed like this verdict was a foregone conclusion, but now it is official that Washington Wizards superstar Gilbert Arenas and youngster Javaris Crittenton have been suspended for the remainder of the NBA season after meeting with the NBA commissioner David Stern.

The hammer had to come down and that it did with David Stern laying down the law like only he can. The real question now will be what will the future hold for Gilbert Arenas?

The Washington Wizards are on the verge of cleaning house as they have been involved in quite a few trade rumors lately surrounding some of their best players with Antawn Jamison leading the way.

Fortunately for Arenas, this NBA offseason could see a lot of NBA superstars changing teams like the LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and Amare Stoudemire playing elsewhere. With that being said, there could be a lot of teams that are on the lookout for a superstar of Gilbert Arenas’ caliber.

The future of Gilbert Arenas is still yet to be decided as the Washington Wizards still haven’t figured out whether or not they want to void Arenas’ $110 million dollar contract that he signed a few seasons ago. If the Wizards do void his contract, Arenas will without a doubt be on his way elsewhere in the league and the one destination that would be perfect fit for the NBA superstar would be with the New York Knicks.

This NBA offseason the New York Knicks will be looking to land one of the four most desired free agents in Chris Bosh (Toronto Raptors), Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns), Dwyane Wade (Miami Heat) and most notably LeBron James (Cleveland Cavaliers).

Most likely, the New York Knicks won’t be able to land any of these prime time NBA superstars as none of these players have really expressed any desire to join the lowly Knicks, but if David Stern allows Gilbert Arenas to play next season a new start with the New York Knicks would be the perfect for him.
