For the first time since May 6, the San Francisco Giants are in first place in the National League West. The Giants improved to 83-64 with a dominant 10-2 win over the Dodgers at AT&T Park, while the San Diego Padres fell a half-game back with a 4-0 loss in St. Louis. The Giants had only scored nine runs combined in their previous five games, but got homers from Aubrey Huff, Buster Posey and Jose Guillen.

The Padres are also a half-game back of Atlanta for the NL Wild Card — the Braves had the night off on Thursday. The Colorado Rockies also had an off day on Thursday and are just 2.5 games behind in both the NL West and Wild Card races.

Here’s a look at the remaining schedule for the teams fighting for playoff spots in the National League West:

  • San Francisco Giants (83-64), 15 games (9H/6A): 3MIL, 3@Cubs, 3@Col, 3ARZ, 3SD
  • San Diego Padres (82-64), 16 games (7H/9A): 3@StL, 3@LAD, 3CIN, 4CUBS, 3@SF
  • Colorado Rockies (80-66), 16 games (6H/10A): 3@LAD, 3@Arz, 3SF, 3LAD, 4@StL

The Giants will have to beat both the Padres and Rockies down the stretch, but have the advantage of more home games. So far the Giants are 44-28 at AT&T Park and 39-36 on the road. The Padres have played almost as well on the road (40-32) as at home (42-32), but the Rockies have fared much better at Coors Field (51-24) than on the road (29-42).

The Braves are three games back of the Phillies in the NL East, but currently hold the Wild Card lead. The two clubs face each other six more times. Here’s what the NL East leaders have left:

  • Philadelphia Phillies (86-61), 15 games (9H/6A): 3WAS, 3ATL, NYM, 3@Was, 3@Atl
  • Atlanta Braves (83-64), 15 games (6H/9A): 3@NYM, 3@Phi, 3@Was, 3FLA, 3PHI
