The story continues to repeat itself; experience plays youth. Ghana with their speed and raw talent look to upend the experienced striking core that is Diego Forlan and Louis Suarez. But they will have their hands full, just ask South Korea.
Defenders like Jonathan and Pantsil need to remain in a straight compact line because any amount of disorganization will lead to the extinguishing of Africa’s remaining light. Ghana has a very good shot of surprising the neysayers, they will need to strike quickly because Uruguay, once dug in, will be a tough team to break down. But let’s give credit where credit is due; Uruguay too has a tough defense. The player that really stood out to me against South Korea was right back, Fucile. All in all it should be a hard fought match with Uruguay winning in regular time, but it will come down to the last second.
Our prediction for this game: Ghana will have the support of the entire African continent in this game and even though Uruguay have been great the “home” advantage will be too great to overcome here. Ghana wins on penalty shootout after 1-1 at full time.
Sportsbook.com has Uruguay the slight favorite sitting at -105 on the moneyline and Japan sit at +300.

GO URUGUAYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Uruguay has beaten teams with major support like south africa and mexico…lack of support isn’t a disadvantage for uruguay, they know they’ve got 3million supporters back home!!!
Ps, it’s LUIS suarez, not Louis :p
Ghana 2 Vs Uruguay 1
ghana 30 vs uruguay 5
Black Stars all the way. Ghana to win!!! Ghana 3 v Uruguay 1
For an ‘Africa United’ fan like me, it’s heartbreaking to have to predict that Uruguay will triumph 2 -1 in the 113th minute of the match. Yet I have to.
I think Uruguay has a better chance of prevailing against Ghana because of the following:
1. they have won this competition twice before (1930, 1950 and if I can get a little superstitions it 2010). This I believe gives Uruguay the motivation unlike Ghana who are playing to be the first african team to reach the semi’s where they’ll meet a possible Brazil and we all know how that ended the last time
2. Luis Suarez, Diego Forlan, Alvaro Pereira need I go on
3. Asamoah Gyan, Kevin Prince Boateng are on the injury bench and Ayew is on a second yellow card hence misses today’s match
But despite all this, am going to bother The Man Above with a silly or maybe even childish and selfish prayer that Brazil loose and Ghana prevail. Maybe I should have prayed for world peace or something on that level but I love soccer too much 🙂
hope the Uruguay will take there pride and won 2 -0 at the first half and stays on till the 90th minute
URUGUAY won the game unfairly but they will meet their match
