According to an article I just read on Yahoo Sports, Rex Ryan is a pussy.

The New York Jets coach, possibly salty over the fact that Mark Sanchez is no Brett Favre, says he felt “disrespected” by the New England Patriots when they went deep with the game more or less in the bag on Sunday.

With just 30 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and a nice 31-14 lead, Tom Brady threw a bomb to Randy Moss on third-and-6 from their 45-yard line. Even though the pass fell incomplete, Ryan got his panties all in a bunch.

“We need to stop them anyway,” Ryan said. ”So it’s no biggie, but I was surprised, and I did feel a little bit disrespected.”

Really. I was under the impression this was a football game, not Bridge with the ladies.

Ryan made it clear that he wasn’t sure whether offensive genius Bill Belichick was behind the call or if Brady decided to make the move on his own. Another possibility might be that the pass was intended as a message to cornerback Darrelle Revis, who has developed some sort of lame rivalry with Moss.

“If they would have thrown it up to [Wes] Welker again, I would have had a problem with it.”

Actually Rex, it sounds like you had a problem with it either way. If you didn’t, you would never have called a timeout with five seconds left in the game you were going to lose, regardless.
