Jimmer Fredette poured in 28 second half points; for 43 on the game to lead the Brigham Young Cougars to a 90-82 win over Buffalo. After missing eight of nine shots in the first half, Fredette started the half with a couple easy buckets and lay-ups, later knocking down long range jumpers.
The win for the Cougars pushed them to 13-1 on the season. The last loss for Brigham Young was against the UCLA Bruins. Since that loss, the Cougars have won three straight games.
Brigham Young will now take on the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds on New Years Day. After that, the Cougars will start their conference schedule against the UNLV Running Rebels on January 5th.
Buffalo with the loss fell to 7-4 on the season. The Bulls had their three game winning streak snapped with the loss. Buffalo had beaten Niagara, Wisconsin Green Bay and Texas Southern coming into this tilt. The next game for the Bulls will be on January 3rd at Cornell.
