Ever since former NFL MVP and Super Bowl champion quarterback Kurt Warner left town, the St. Louis Rams have slowly, but surely turned into one of the worst teams in the NFL with little or no hope for the future. No matter what moves they have made to bring in talent to St. Louis over the years, the Rams have consistently failed to live up to expectations and have struggle to win four or more games every season.
Last year was a serious low point for the St. Louis Rams as they one just one game all season long and officially became the league’s worst team at 1-15, but they were fortunate enough to get the number one pick in the 2010 NFL Draft which turned out to be former Heisman trophy winning quarterback Sam Bradford out of Oklahoma.
Even though Bradford was the best choice for the St. Louis Rams in their attempt to turn around their struggling NFL franchise, everyone knew it was still going to take a few years before they could become relevant in the NFC Conference once again.
Fortunately, Bradford has played much better than anticipated as he has shown that he is ready to be the starting quarterback for this team, but what makes the rookie quarterback even better is having Pro Bowl running back Steven Jackson coming out of the backfield.
With Jackson being a constant threat out of the backfield, Bradford can use the play-action pass and keep the defense guessing, but Jackson has been injury prone over the years and during the St. Louis Rams first win of the season over the Washington Redskins last week, the hard nosed rusher went down with a groin injury.
At first the injury seemed like it could be serious as Jackson didn’t return to the game, but after a few tests it looks as though Jackson could very well suit up and play against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 4. Unfortunately, Jackson has missed multiple practices this week including Wednesday and Thursday’s, but the Rams are keeping him questionable for this week’s game against Pete Carroll’s Seattle Seahawks.
If you own Steven Jackson on your fantasy football team, and if you reading this you probably do, keep your eye on the injury reports for the St. Louis Rams as they could just saying that he will be good to go this Sunday to keep the Seahawks thinking he will play, but come game time they could sit him.
