Group H teams will be in action on March 26th as Euro 2012 qualifying action continues. The fourth and fifth-place teams, Cyprus and Iceland will meet while leaders Norway takes on third-place Denmark in an attractive Scandinavian derby. Second-place Portugal has the day off.

Cyprus is at home to Iceland and it’s the first time the two countries have met in a competitive game. They’ve played each other three times in the past in friendlies. Surprisingly, Cyprus hasn’t been able to beat Iceland yet, with two draws and a 2-1 Iceland win. Cyprus has one point in group play which came in a shocking and thrilling 4-4 draw against Portugal last September. Iceland sits in last place in the group with three losses in three matches.

Cyprus will be without defender Paraskevas Christou and midfielder Christos Marangos due to injuries and leading scorer Michael Constantinou and captain Ionnis Okkas could also miss the match. Marios Satsias will definitely sit out as he’s suspended. Iceland are healthy and should start their strongest line-up. Striker Aron Johannsson could make his debut in this game.

This is a pretty even matchup, but home field advantage could prove the difference and pave the way for a Cypriot victory.

William Hill has the odds of a Cyprus win even at 1/1 with an Iceland win listed at 11/4 and a draw at 12/5.

The Norway vs Denmark match will have huge implications on the group standings as Norway leads it with nine points followed by Portugal with seven and Denmark with six. Norway and Denmark also have a game in hand over Portugal.

Norway and Denmark have met 82 times with Denmark winning 50, losing 20, and drawing 11. Norway is unbeaten in group play and a win here would stretch their lead over Portugal to five points and six over Denmark. If Denmark wins they’ll vault over Portugal and Norway into first place on goal difference.

Norway will have to play without Jon Knudsen due to a broken finger and John Carew, who’s also injured. Striker Steffen Iversen might play up front in his 79th cap.

Jakob Poulsen and Stephan Andersen have been recalled by Denmark after being injured and striker Nicklas Bendtner should be a game-time decision after a slight injury in training. Norway has won three and lost two in their last five games while Denmark has won two, lost two and drawn one.

Denmark appears to have a better squad than Norway, but that could be negated by the home crowd for the Norwegians. We could see this match end in a 1-1 draw.

The odds of a Norway win are 7/5 with the odds of a Denmark win at 2/1 and a draw at 11/5. The odds of a 1-1 draw are 11/2.
