Eric Mangini’s Foot Probably Doesn’t Fit In His Mouth

When two teams that suck at football play each other, one of them comes out a winner. That’s just the way the world works.

After a frustrating loss to the crappy Detroit Lions on Sunday, Eric Mangini said some things that he regrets. We all do this from time to time, but most of us don’t do it at a press conference for all the football-loving world to see.

The Browns coach suggested some of the Lions defensive players faked injuries during the game in an effort to slow down Cleveland’s no huddle defense in Detroit’s 38-37 win… just because a whole bunch of Lions left the field with injuries and came back to play later on.

During a news conference, Mangini took it all back, claiming that he wasn’t trying to “shy away from accountability” for the loss. Except he was trying to shy away from accountability by blaming the other team, who also sucks at football, for his team’s suckiness.

Stop embarrassing yourself, man. Your team does a good enough job of that without you opening your mouth. And no, you’re not getting Lebron.

If you’re looking to bet on either of these teams this Sunday, you’re nuts. Then again, even though the Packers are -11 favorites over the Lions this Thanksgiving, Green Bay has been ravaged by injuries recently, including Aaron Kampman and Al Harris as their latest. Just a thought. The Bengals are hosting the Browns this Sunday, which means another loss for Cleveland. Then again, any given Sunday…
