The free agent process in the NFL has been crazy to say the least with plenty of players changing teams, but even though all the big-names are pretty much off the market like Nnamdi Asomugha (Philadelphia Eagles), Plaxico Burress (New York Jets), Randy Moss (retirement) and Santonio Holmes (New York Jets) there are still a few players available that could turn out to be game-changers.
The one free agent that is still available and getting quite a lot of interest around the league is Malcom Floyd of the San Diego Chargers. Apparently, the Chargers are still interested in re-signing Floyd after arguably his best season as a pro in San Diego, but they will have their work cut out for them with seven other teams in the running for the Pro Bowl caliber wideout.
Reportedly, eight teams are seriously interested in signing Malcom Floyd before next season with the San Diego Chargers included. The Chargers would love to bring back Floyd to play across from Pro Bowler Vincent Jackson, but things aren’t looking that great right now for San Diego.
The six other teams in the running for the free agent wideout are the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Minnesota Vikings, Carolina Panthers, Arizona Cardinals, Philadelphia Eagles and the division rival Oakland Raiders.
As of right now, the Philadelphia Eagles might be able to swoop in and sign the free agent wide receiver as Philly would be the most desirable destination. With the Eagles being a perennial Super Bowl title contender, the edge definitely has to go to Philly, but Floyd might be able to get more money from teams like the Ravens, 49ers, Panthers, Cardinals, Vikings or Raiders.
