Delonte West is in some serious trouble. Again.
The troubled Cleveland Cavaliers guard, who traveled to Miami with the team, was inactive for the second straight night Thursday. Coach Mike Brown has labeled his status as day-to-day due to an “internal matter.”
West, who had been treated for bipolar disorder in the past, was indicted a couple weeks ago on weapons and traffic charges from his September arrest for speeding on a motorcycle with a crapload of weapons. To make matters worse, his wife recently filed a domestic violence report against him. The guy needs some serious help.
In a statement to Fanhouse, West said, “One plus one is two and C always comes out to A and B. One plus one always be two.”
He was then asked to clarify that.
“One plus one always be two, brother,” he said, declining further comment.
The good news? Brown says he has a backup plan in case West ends up in the slammer.
“In my mind I have a way I’m going to go if he’s active, and if he doesn’t go, I have a slightly different way,” the coach said. “I’m good either way.”
Speaking of criminal activity and basketball players, former NBA All-Star Antoine Walker is apparently trying to resolve criminal charges stemming from over $800,000 in gambling debts to three different casinos in Las Vegas. Sin City’s Justice of the Peace gave Walker’s lawyer until November 30th to strike a deal, otherwise she threatened to take the felony case to trial in state court.
The charges? Three bad checks he wrote in an attempt to square away $822,500 of the $1 million casino loans he took between July 2008 and January 2009.
HE GAMBLED AWAY ONE MILLION DOLLARS. That makes me want to vomit.
