Amir Khan knocked KO’d by Canelo Alvarez after jumping up two weight classes

When WBC Middleweight Champion Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez of Mexico knocked out England’s Amir Khan in Las Vegas on May 7th it was a perfect example of a one-punch knockout. Khan, who had boxed well during the first five rounds, was stopped by the first telling right hand Alvarez was able to land and the bout was suddenly and dramatically over in the sixth round. Sports fans around the world are debating whether or not Leicester City’s English Premier League title win this season is the biggest upset in sports history. Considering the odds at the start of the season of the small club capturing the crown were generally 5,000/1 it’s definitely an upset of huge proportions. Bookmakers all over the world will take a bit of a hit to the wallet if they took any wagers on Leicester pulling off the improbable, but it’s partly their own fault. Even though the team was nearly relegated last year, it’s hard to see where the 5,000/1 odds came from in a 20-team league.
