Patrick Kane sets consecutive-scoring record for American NHL players

It appears that rape accusations against Chicago Blackhawks forwards Patrick Kane certainly haven’t affected his games this season as he just set a new NHL record for American-born players. Kane recently scored a point in his 19th consecutive game to break the old mark of 18 contests which was shared by Eddie Olczyk when he played with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1989/90 season and Phil Kessel when he skated for the Boston Bruins in 2008/09. Kane set the new standard in a 3-2 loss in overtime at the Staples Centre to the Los Angeles Kings on November 28. The streak began back on October 17 when he scored a goal against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers sets second NFL record this season

Green Bay Packers’ 32-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers became the fastest player in NFL history to throw 250 touchdown passes on November 26. Rodgers tossed his 250th TD pass in a 17-13 Thanksgiving Day loss to the Chicago Bears at home at Lambeau Field. Rodgers connected on his 25-yard touchdown pass to Eddie Lacy midway during the game’s first quarter. To put Green Bay out in front 7-0. However, the moment was nearly ruined by Lacy as he appeared to celebrate the play before crossing the goal line. Officials reviewed the play and the touchdown was given.

Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy sets English Premier League scoring record

Just four years ago Jamie Vardy was an unknown English striker playing in the fifth-tier of his country’s soccer setup for a non-professional team named Fleetwood Town. Today, he’s an English international who has just set a new scoring Premier League scoring record. The 28-year-old’s name was written into the record books on Saturday, November 28th when he scored a goal in his 11th consecutive match. The historic goal came in his club’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United at home at King Power Stadium in Leicester when Vardy found the back of the net in the 24th minute.

Wladimir Klitschko throws away Heavyweight Titles

Ukraine’s Wladimir Klitschko basically tossed a no-hitter in Dusseldorf, Germany on Saturday, November 28th. However, the problem is he’s a professional boxer not a baseball pitcher. The former world champion threw his four world championships away when he refused to engage with fellow heavyweight Tyson Fury of England. Fury didn’t do much either and more or less won Klitschko’s WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO belts by default. Still, the real losers here were any fans who paid money to watch this abysmal excuse for a heavyweight title fight.

The 39-year-old Klitschko, also known as Dr. Steelhammer, went into the fight with 18 consecutive title defences to his name and hadn’t lost a contest since 2004. He had a record of 64-3 with 53 Kos while Fury was 24-0 with 18 Kos against journeymen opponents The 27-year-old Fury had a four-inch reach advantage over the former champ and lists himself at 6-feet-9-inches tall, while in reality he’s more like 6-foot-7. Klitschko, who stands 6-foot-6, should have just waded in and dealt with the weak-chinned challenger, but he actually appeared afraid to throw a punch in fear of getting hit in return and held his opponent whenever he got close to him.
