Mets’ Daniel Murphy sets MLB record with home runs in six straight playoff games

The most home runs Daniel Murphy of the New York Mets has ever hit in one of his seven Major League Baseball seasons is 14. However, he’s launched six in six playoff games during the current 2015 postseason to set a new MLB record. The Mets recently beat the Cubs 8-3 in game four of the National League Championship Series (NLCS) to move on to the World Series. Murphy couldn’t explain his recent power surge, but wasn’t about to question it as he’s just happy to contribute as much as he can. His performances earned him the NLCS Most Valuable Player Award.

Spanish soccer club Getafe creates dating site at home games

Spanish soccer club Getafe CF isn’t one of the most popular teams in the country so they’ve decided to do something about it with a little bit of tongue in cheek. Attendance has never been the greatest at home games so the club believes if fans married each other and had children this would lead to bigger crowds in the future. To help move things along, Getafe CF recently created a dating app for its supporters. An advertisement for the venture says, “if we breed amongst ourselves there’ll be more of us. Let’s have children, together, here, on our home ground.”

The club has advertised the app on its Facebook page and is using a video which shows fans meeting members of the opposite sex at home games and then sneaking off to different areas of the stadium to engage in sex. The app is named Getafinder and it supposedly works at the team’s home stadium, the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, and the immediate surrounding area.

Man City fans being investigated for booing Champions League theme song

As usual, there’s more ridiculous news from the world of soccer. This time it’s UEFA’s turn to make themselves look foolish. The governing body of European soccer has reportedly opened up an investigation regarding disciplinary action against English Premier League leaders Manchester City. It seems UEFA wasn’t happy that fans at the club’s Etihad Stadium ground booed UEFA’s Champions League anthem prior to the kickoff of City’s match against Spanish La Liga club Sevilla on October 21st.

Yes, you read it right. Fans didn’t boo any of the nations’ national anthems, but actually had the nerve to boo the tournament’s annoying theme song. This is akin to facing disciplinary action for booing the theme song to the Big Bang Theory television show. Of course, UEFA is once again the laughing stock of football and you’d think it would have better things to do considering it’s president Michel Platini is being investigated for corruption along with his longtime buddy Sepp Blatter of FIFA.
