The New Orleans Saints have little competition as the NFL’s most disappointing team after the first month of the season. The Saints are one of only two teams in the entire league to go winless through their first four games, and they face a tough task in getting their first win this week as they host the first place San Diego Chargers on Sunday Night Football.

The Saints managed to cover for the first time all season last week, losing by a single point as seven-point road underdogs in Green Bay. The Saints were eight-point favorites in both of their two previous home games this season, they lost 40-32 to the Washington Redskins in Week 1 and then 27-24 in overtime to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3. the Chargers beat the Chiefs in KC last week, winning by 17 as two-point road favorites. That improved San Diego to 3-1 overall and 3-1 against the spread for the season, including 2-0 straight up and 2-0 ATS on the road.
This week’s Thursday Night Football matchup pairs two teams that are off to surprisingly not-that-awful starts, with the shockingly undefeated Arizona Cardinals visiting the almost-as-shockingly .500 St. Louis Rams. Will Kevin Kolb and the Cardinals lose their first game, or keep their flukish run alive in the heart of the Midwest?
Last week, the Cardinals needed overtime to beat the visiting Miami Dolphins and failed to cover as four-point favorites. That dropped Arizona to 3-1 Against the Spread this year. This will be only Zona’s second home game of the year and their first as favorites; the Cardinals won their first road game 20-18 in New England as 13-point underdogs. Going a little further back, Arizona has not been a good road team at all, they had lost 13 of their last 15 road contests before the big upset against the Patriots.
UFC on Fuel TV 5 featured some explosive highlights, including the heavyweight tilt between Stefan “Skyscraper” Struve and Croatia’s Stipe Miocic.
Plus, the return of Dan Hardy to his native England to fight Ultimate Fighter vet Amir Sadollah.
Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears will visit Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboys in an enticing Monday Night Football showdown between two of the NFL’s most storied franchises. The 2-1 Bears will be looking for their first road victory of the season, while the 2-1 Cowboys will try to stay unbeaten at home. The Bears have covered in six of their last eight Monday Night games, while the Cowboys have covered just once in their past seven MNF appearances.
SPREAD: Cowboys -3.5
MONEY LINE: Bears +160, Cowboys -185
OVER/UNDER: 41.5
Last week, the Bears easily covered as touchdown home favorites in a 23-6 romp over the St. Louis Rams. The Cowboys failed to cover last Sunday as 7.5-point favorites in their home opener, but still managed a 16-10 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bears are 2-1 against the spread this season, and their last two games have gone Under. In their only road game this season, they lost at the Green Bay Packers by 13, failing to cover as five-point underdogs. The Cowboys are 1-2 ATS this season, with all three of their games going Under.
