2012 NFL Predictions & Preview: Buffalo Bills 7-9

With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Ryan Fitzpatrick and the Buffalo Bills, who will try to look more like the team that started last year 5-2 and less like the team that then lost seven straight.

BUFFALO BILLS

Last year’s record: 6-10

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 8

First four games:

Sep 9 @N.Y. Jets 1:00 pm
Sep 16 Kansas City 1:00 pm
Sep 23 @Cleveland 1:00 pm
Sep 30 New England 1:00 pm

The Bills shocked the Patriots in Week 3 last season, but lost their five other games against the AFC East.  That obviously will need to improve if their going to compete this year. I see them losing one of their first two road games, probably at the Jets, and at home against the Pats in Week 4 this year for a 2-2 September.

2012 NFL Predictions & Preview: Tennessee Titans 7-9

With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Chris Johnson and the Tennessee Titans, who’ll try to make the playoffs for the first time since 2008.

TENNESSEE TITANS

Last year’s record: 9-7

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 7

First four games:

Sep 9 New England 1:00 pm
Sep 16 @San Diego 4:25 pm
Sep 23 Detroit 1:00 pm
Sep 30 @Houston 1:00 pm

A Week 15 loss to the Colts basically kept the Titans out of the playoffs last season, but with Jake Locker replacing Matt Hasselback at quarterback and a brutal September schedule, Tennessee might fall into an early hole and never be able to dig themselves out. This looks like a 1-3 start for the Titans.

2012 NFL Predictions & Preview: Kansas City Chiefs 7-9

With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Matt Cassel and the Kansas City Chiefs, who will try to bounce back from a disappointing 2011.

KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Last year’s record: 7-9

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 8

First four games:
Sep 9 Atlanta 1:00 pm
Sep 16 @Buffalo 1:00 pm
Sep 23 @New Orleans 1:00 pm
Sep 30 San Diego 1:00 pm

The Chiefs never fully recovered from an 0-3 start last year, and this year’s opening month schedule is probably even tougher than last year’s. This looks like another 1-3 start for KC.

Second four games:
Oct 7 Baltimore 1:00 pm
Oct 14 @Tampa Bay 1:00 pm
Week 7 BYE
Oct 28 Oakland 4:05 pm
Nov 1 @San Diego 8:20 pm

Tony Stewart Whips Helmet at Matt Kenseth

The commentators got a kick out of Tony Stewart’s antics at Bristol, when he pulled something that would have fit perfectly out of “Talledega Nights” — throwing his helmet at Matt Kenseth’s #17 car.

Stewart and Kenseth were battling for the lead with about 160 laps to go when they crashed together.

“I checked up twice to not run over him [Kenseth] and I learned my lesson there,” Stewart said. “I’m going to run over him every him every chance I’ve got from now ’til the end of the year … every chance I’ve got.”

Asked if he got the helmet back, Stewart added, “I don’t give a crap. The hell with the helmet.”

Denny Hamlin ended up the victor, but Stewart may have had the more entertaining performance.
