2012 NFL Predictions & Preview: St. Louis Rams 4-12

With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Sam Bradford and the St. Louis Rams, who’ll try to bounce back from an atrocious 2011 and make the playoffs for the first time since 2004.

ST. LOUIS RAMS

Last year’s record: 2-14

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 6

First four games:

Sep 9 @Detroit 1:00 pm
Sep 16 Washington 4:05 pm
Sep 23 @Chicago 1:00 pm
Sep 30 Seattle 1:00 pm

The Rams probably have a slightly better chance of winning in Detroit than in Chicago, both losing their first two road games seems like a pretty sure bet. They should win one of their home games though to get to 1-3 and avoid another 0-6 start like last year.

2012 NFL Predictions & Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers 5-11

With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Josh Freeman and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who’ll try to bounce back from a disastrous 2011 season.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS

Last year’s record: 4-12

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 6

First four games:

Sep 9 Carolina 4:25 pm
Sep 16 @N.Y. Giants 1:00 pm
Sep 23 @Dallas 1:00 pm
Sep 30 Washington 4:25 pm

The Buccaneers haven’t had back-to-back losing seasons since 2003-2004, and started last season 4-2 before losing their final ten games. They’ll probably be home underdogs in Week 1 against Cam Newton and the Panthers, but should have a good chance to win that game. They’ll definitely struggle the following two weeks and probably end up 1-3 after the first month of the season.

2012 NFL Predictions & Preview: Miami Dolphins 6-10

With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Reggie Bush and the Miami Dolphins, who will try to climb back to relevance.

MIAMI DOLPHINS

Last year’s record: 6-10

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 7

First four games:

Sep 9 @Houston 1:00 pm
Sep 16 Oakland 1:00 pm
Sep 23 N.Y. Jets 1:00 pm
Sep 30 @Arizona 4:05 pm

The name Ryan Tannehill doesn’t strike fear in anyone, but then neither did Andy Dalton last season. If the Dolphins can pull a Week 1 upset in Houston, maybe they could go on a run — but they also started 0-7 last season before winning six of their last nine. I only see a slight improvement this year and a 1-3 September record.

2012 NFL Predictions & Preview: Oakland Raiders 8-8

With the NFL regular season fast approaching, we at SportsUntapped are taking our crystal balls out of storage and examining each team’s full 16-game schedule to prognosticate how the 2012 season will play out. We’ll look at all 32 teams and reveal each one’s final record. Next up: Carson Palmer and the Oakland Raiders, who’ll try to win nine or more games for the first time since 2002.

OAKLAND RAIDERS

Last year’s record: 8-8

Vegas Over/Under on 2012 Regular Season Wins: 7

First four games:

Sep 10 San Diego 10:15 pm
Sep 16 @Miami 1:00 pm
Sep 23 Pittsburgh 4:25 pm
Sep 30 @Denver 4:05 pm

If the Raiders can’t beat the Chargers at home on the opening Monday night, they could find themselves in an early hole with tough games in Week 3 and Week 4. They definitely lose to the Steelers in Week 3, but beat the Dolphins on the road and split the two division games for a 2-2 mark at the end of September.
