UFC 140 Video Preview

Joe Rogan says that the Jon Jones vs. Lyoto Machida bout for the UFC light heavyweight title is “guaranteed fireworks”. If Machida can somehow work his way inside on Jones, then there will be plenty of fireworkds. If he can’t, those fireworks will all be exploding from the hands, legs, knees and elbows of Jon Jones — and only Jones. Here’s the extended preview.

In the other main bouts, Frank Mir tries to keep his winning streak going in a rematch with Big Nog. Mir soundly defeated Big Nog at UFC 92, but there were reports that Nog was ill. That’s certainly the kind of thing that you’d like to know about if you do UFC betting, but this time they are both healthy, and Big Nog is coming off a spectacular knockout of Brendan Schaub at UFC 134.

Texans Sign QB Jake Delhomme

After losing quarterbacks Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart to season-ending injuries in their last two games, the Houston Texans signed 36-year-old veteran quarterback Jake Delhomme. Texans coach Gary Kubiak said rookie T.J. Yates will start on Sunday against the Falcons, but the coach was excited to have Delhomme join his quarterback corps, which also includes career backup Kellen Clemens.

The Texans also worked out veteran Jeff Garcia, but ultimately went with Delhomme, who spent last year as a backup in Cleveland after a successful run in Carolina where he led the Panthers to Super Bowl XXXVIII in his first season as the starter.

Tiger Woods Favored At 2011 Chevron World Challenge [Odds]

November was a pretty good month for Tiger Woods with a third place finish at the Australian Open and clinching the Presidents Cup for the United States with a dominant singles match win. Now Tiger will try for his first tournament win in over two years at the Chevron World Challenge in California, and he’s the +375 betting favorite to get it done.

At last year’s Chevron Challenge, Tiger had a four-shot lead going into the final round, but lost in a playoff to Graeme McDowell. McDowell is in South Africa this year playing in the Nedbank Golf Challenge, so Tiger’s stiffest challenge in the Chevron’s elite 18-golfer field is expected to come from Webb Simpson (+900).
