Brandon Roy Out Indefinitely for Portland

Portland Trailblazers All Star point guard Brandon Roy will sit out indefinitely because of sore knees. The three time All Star has missed nine games this season, including his last six. The timetable for Roy to return is uncertain.

Roy is averaging 16.6 points per game this season, which is way down from his 19.9 in his career. Roy has been bothered by his knees all season, but has just tried to play through it. The knee problems have to do with a lack of cartilage in his knee.

Portland is currently in fourth place in the Northwest Division in the Western Conference. The Trailblazers hold a 17-16 record; which is 8th place in the Western Conference. Portland will wait until Sunday to play their next game. In that game, the Trailblazers will battle the Houston Rockets at the Rose Garden.

Alistair Overeem Destroys Todd Duffee

Alistair Overeem dominated Todd Duffee at Dynamite!! 2010 Power of Courage.

Overeem finished Duffee almost as fast as Duffee finished Tim Hague at UFC 102. Now it’s time for Overeem to take on the best of the heavyweights in MMA. His last 4 MMA fights have been against Duffee, Brett Rogers, Gary Goodridge and James Thompson.

He needs to take it to the next level to be considered one of the best heavyweights in MMA. We need to see him get in some actual fights.

Chien-Ming Wang’s Resolution: Come Back Up

Hey, remember Chien-Ming Wang? He was the Yankees best pitcher in 2006 and 2007, winning 19 games each year. But Wang wasn’t able to keep it up, getting injured and then came limp performance after limp performance in 2009. The Nationals signed him last offseason but he was hurt all year; then they signed him again for 2011 just in case the past 15 months of rehab really pay off.

Wang, easily the most successful of the six Taiwanese players in MLB history, spent New Year’s Eve in Taiwan at a charity event and spreading the word to the Taiwanese press that his big New Year’s resolution is to make a comeback, to pitch again in the Majors and hopefully do it by May. Wang has been hanging out in Taiwan since November.
