Yesterday we saw Blake beat Becker in two (although tight) sets and Andy Murray lose a set, but in the end win against Smyczek. Today we have veteran Rainer Schuettler going up against Sam Querrey and Tipsarevic playing Baghdatis in Los Angeles. I will also write about some Umag and Gstaad matches for all you who are interested in tennis betting.
The odds are presented by Bodog which is a good choice for betting on tennis as they have decent odds and plenty of betting options.
Schuettler is old but still a solid player with decent results (and he beat Querrey in Australian Open this year), but Querrey is up 2-1 in H2H and seems to be on a roll so I expect the young American to take this in two sets. You get 1.33 on Querrey and 3.30 for Schuettler.
Closer Brad Lidge has saved only 10 games for the Phillies this season, down considerably from his average of 36 saves a year in his first two seasons in the City of Brotherly Love. But his greatest closing job may have been convincing his former Astros teammate Roy Oswalt to waive his no-trade clause and accept a trade to join the Phillies rotation. And all Lidge had to do was a little bit of fibbing.
“He wanted to know about Philadelphia and the city,” Lidge said stifling giggles as he approached the punchline. “I told him it’s been great.” And that rube Oswalt actually believed him!
“We played together for seven years and I trust his opinion,” said Oswalt demonstrating his incredible naïveté. “He told me that the clubhouse was great and that I was going to love it over there. His opinion means a lot to me.”
Tim Tebow is now officially ready to play NFL football and sell you some underwear. Seriously are you ready for Tebow tweeting about Jockey briefs and the Tim Tebow Jockey Underwear Facebook page? Because they start now. This week it was announced that the former Florida Gators standout signed a 5-year deal with the Denver Broncos and a multi-year endorsement contract with Jockey International, Inc.
On the football side, 25th overall pick Tebow gets slightly less overall money ($11.25 million) than 24th overall pick wide receiver Dez Bryant got from the Dallas Cowboys ($11.8m), but his $8.7m in guaranteed money is $400k more than Bryant was guaranteed.
