We’re going to run through the rest of the ‘non-sport’ type prop bets before we move on in our discussion of Superbowl betting. As with all of the props we’ve discussed so far this one is from Bodog. They’ve got an incredible number and variety of proposition bets on the board for Superbowl 44. They’ve got some of the more unusual ones that you won’t find at any other sportsbook so if you don’t have an account there yet go get one.
Here’s another proposition wager that looks to be a solid play:
Will they show clothing apparel proclaiming the Super Bowl Champion before the final whistle?
YES -150
NO +120
We’ll finish up our discussion of the halftime show props in this post and we’ve got another betting position that could provide the easiest money you’ll make on the entire Superbowl. In Superbowl betting as with any other sports bet you’ve got to take the value where you can find it. Bodog has two more prop bets on The Who’s halftime performance and we like one of them a lot.
One bet offers odds on the following proposition:
If any member of the Who smashes their guitar what does the guitar hit first?
Possible choices are the floor, microphone, the drummer, the stage or a fan. The problem with this bet is that you’re getting paid for a single occurrence but you’re essentially betting a parlay. To win your bet you have to get a smashed guitar *and* the guitar has to hit something or somebody. If no guitar gets smashed, the bet is ‘no action’. If it gets smashed and doesn’t hit anyone its a loss. Furthermore, there’s just no way to handicap this prop even assuming a guitar *did* get smashed.
We talked about one solid betting position on the Who’s Superbowl halftime show earlier, and sportsbooks are offering other betting opportunities on it as well. It may not constitute a large part of your Superbowl betting, but the halftime show offers some really good value and should provide easy winners for us. As before, Bodog has the widest selection of prop bets so if you don’t have an account there go get one!
“Things the do look awful c-c-cold. I hope I die before I get old”
–My Generation
Pete Townshend didn’t die before he got but he is playing the halftime of the Superbowl which isn’t far from death for a rock band’s ‘street cred’. Full disclosure here–I’m a huge Who fan. The Who were punks years before the punk movement and one of the first bands to bring serious anger and intensity to rock music. Guitarist Pete Townshend lost much of his hearing in one ear after the band put too much explosive into the drums (we’ve got the video of that below). The Who successfully transcended their punkish start as the soundtrack of the English mod movement to a huge arena rock band.
