The South Africans are clear favourites to win this match. The West Indies will look to fight hard and start their World Cup Campaign with a win.
London Start Time: 09:00
Venue and Pitch
The Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi was banned by the ICC in 2009 because the pitch was deemed unfit. It will be interesting to see how the new pitch plays out. Most teams in the sub continent prefer to bat first and unless the pitch has a tinge of grass on it, the captain winning the toss will follow suit. If the South Africans bat first, you can expect a high scoring game as Hashim Amla, AB Devilliers and JP Duminy are in top form.

Team News
The South Africans are back to full strength with Jacques Kallis expected to take the field after recovering from injury. However, South Africa will be without the services of their veteran wicket keeper Mark Boucher who was dropped. AB Devilliers will take his place behind the wicket. While Devilliers is without doubt one of the top fielders in the world, keeping wickets in the sub-continent will prove a huge challenge. The Windies will rely heavily on the experience of Chris Gayle and the flamboyance of Kieron Pollard to take them over the line.
Latest Match Odds
The last time South Africa took on the West Indies they trounced them 5-0 and unless Gayle and Pollard fire, you can expect a similar result. South Africa start as the clear favourites with match odds at 4/11.
Best Batsman
Hashim Amla has been in scintillating form and off late has been just as aggressive as a Dilshan or Sehwag. He is expected to be South Africa’s best batsmen with 4.5. If Amla fails at the top, then Jacques Kallis is another good bet along with AB Devilliers.
For the West Indies, the current odds of 3.5 favor D Smith on being the best batsmen with big hitter Chris Gayle getting just 0.5. However, on the sub continent Gayle can prove to be destructive, if he manages to survive the first 5 overs.
Featured Bet
The pitch holds the key in determining whether this is a high scoring contest. If the ball does come onto the bat, then you can expect a total that is close to the 300 run mark. Current odds of 9/1 favor both Jacques Kallis from South Africa and Chris Gayle from the West Indies to walk away with the man of the match award.
Match Predictions
South Africa’s pace attack will blow away the West Indian batsmen and give them an easy victory, making them strong favourites to win this World Cup.
Best Bet: Jacques Kallis 9/1
