Preview: Two very under looked teams from non-power conferences will get together Saturday night at McKeon Pavilion.

The Utah State Aggies will bring their 24-3 record up against the 22-5 Gaels of St. Mary’s. The Aggies are at the top of the Western Athletic Conference by 3.5 games over New Mexico State. Utah State’s three losses on the season came at Brigham Young, at Georgetown and at Idaho. The Aggies have a change to get revenge on the Vandals next Saturday at home. Utah State has been to the tournament 19 times, but never to the Final Four. In fact, in those 19 years, the Aggies have won just six tournament games in school history.

St. Mary’s comes in at the top of the West Coast Conference. The Gaels are 1.5 games ahead of both Gonzaga and San Francisco. St. Mary’s is coming off a tough loss on Wednesday at San Diego. The other four losses for St. Mary’s this season came to Brigham Young, San Diego State, Vanderbilt and Portland. When playing at home, the Gaels average winning by 13 points per game. St. Mary’s is seeking their 7th trip to the NCAA tournament. In six tournaments, St. Mary’s has only won three games.
