College basketball betting will dominate action at sportsbooks for most of March, with the regular season winding down before conference tournaments and the ‘Big Dance’ begin.  We’ll take a look at a game between a couple of Pac 10 also rans as UCLA travels to Tuscon to face the University of Arizona.  Neither team is playing for much with the exception of an outside shot at a NIT bid (assuming they don’t win the conference tourney, which is a long shot for both).  The Wildcats are in 5th place in the conference standings with an 8-8 mark and are 14-14 overall.  The Bruins are also 8-8 in the Pac 10, with a 13-15 record overall.

UCLA VS. ARIZONA

These teams played on January 2nd at Pauley Pavilion, and the Wildcats had no problem as they won by 16 as +6 road underdogs.  UCLA has been a breakeven pointspread proposition all year with a 13-13 ATS mark overall, a 4-4 road mark and an 8-8 pointspread record against Pac 10 foes.  They have shown a small profit as an underdog with an 8-6 ATS mark.  Arizona, meanwhile, has been a winning sports betting investment this year with a 15-12 overall mark, 6-4 as a favorite and 10-6 ATS in conference.

Basically, we think there’s a fundamental matchup advantage for Arizona in this matchup.  The Wildcats have a very potent offense and UCLA simply can’t beat them in a shootout.  The Wildcats have lost 5 of their L7 games (3-4 ATS) but have dominated the head to head series on this court, currently on a 9-3 SU/ATS run.  We look for another relatively easy Arizona victory and expect them to more than cover the price on this game.
