Pittsburgh Panthers (25-3) @ Louisville Cardinals (21-7)
Time: 2:00 pm EST
Odds: Best odds at Bookmaker
Preview: The top team in the Big East will head to Northern Kentucky to take on the Louisville Cardinals. Pittsburgh is 25-3 overall, and came in ranked #6 in the most recent Associated Press poll. The Panthers hold a 13-2 Big East record, which is two games ahead of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
Pittsburgh’s three losses this season came to Tennessee, Notre Dame and St. John’s. The Panthers rank as the 7th best rebounding team in the country and the third best assists team. Pittsburgh is led by Ashton Gibbs and his 16.4 points per game. The Louisville Cardinals, led by Rick Pitino would love a home win to be in better position for a two day bye in the Big East Tournament. Currently the Cardinals are 21-7 overall and 10-5 in Big East play.
The Cardinals are just ½ game ahead of the Syracuse Orange for fourth in the conference. Louisville is coming off two straight wins over UConn and Rutgers, after losing at Notre Dame and Cincinnati. The Cardinals are led in scoring by Preston Knowles and his 13.5 points per game.
Betting Odds for Panthers vs Cardinals
Our prediction for this game: While Pittsburgh is one of the elite teams in the country, Louisville is a tough place to play. We look for the Cardinals to come away with a win. Cardinals 69-67.
