Boise State head football coach Chris Petersen announced on Monday that he has elected to remain at Boise State. Petersen was rumored to possibly head to Stanford after the University called for permission to talk to the leader.
Petersen has accumulated a 61-5 record in five seasons at the helm of the Broncos. The lone loss for the Broncos this season was to Nevada, which cost Petersen’s crew a shot at a BCS bowl game. In his career, the Boise State football team has won two BCS bowl games.
The Stanford Cardinal are looking to fill the void at head coach left by former NFL quarterback Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh left to become the head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. His brother John is the head man for the Baltimore Ravens. No names have been discussed for the job after Petersen declined the offer.
