Gee, who saw this coming? Fresh off his 2000-yard rushing season and second straight Pro Bowl appearance, Titans running back Chris Johnson is hinting he wants to be the richest back in football. Here’s what Every Coach’s Dream had to say:

“I think I deserve to be the highest-paid running back in the league, or even the highest-paid offensive player besides the quarterback.”

Okay. But you’re not mandating that you be, right Chris?

“But it’s not like I am not going out in the media saying, ‘Pay me, I want a new deal now.’ I am just saying, if they were to pay me, I want that. Hopefully they want that, too.”

Um, well, you kinda sorta did go to the media and announce you wanted a new deal Chrissy my boy. So, let the prolonged holdout and bitter public sparring begin! Don’t you just love the NFL offseason? It’s fantastic!
