Montreal Alouettes (5-1) will travel into Ontario to play against the Toronto Argonauts (4-2) on Saturday night. The Alouettes played the Argonauts once already this season and demolished them by a score of 41-10. If Toronto wants to stand a chance this weekend then they’re going to need to do a lot better on both offence and defence. Cleo Lemon looked terrible against the Alouettes the last time they played and he’s going to need a game like last week if he wants to win.
Both the Alouettes and Argonauts had a tough game last week, but both teams managed to win their games. Montreal ended up beating the Roughriders 30-26 in a very hard fought battle while Toronto barely beat the Eskimos 29-28. With Toronto losing in week 5 against the Alouettes in Montreal, they’ll be able to tie the season series up this weekend at the Rogers Centre.
Calvillo ended up going 17 for 25 with 252 yards, 2 TD’s and 0 INT’s last week against the Roughriders, which I’m sure he’s going to want to improve upon this week in Toronto. Lemon has been under some heat in Toronto from the fans and media lately, but he stepped up big last week by going 23 for 34 with 292 yards, 1 TD and 1 INT. It seems as though Lemon is becoming more comfortable with each game that he plays and he’s going to need to be a bit better this week if he wants his team to beat the Als.
Cory Boyd has another great week running the ball against the Eskimos, as he finished with 164 yards and 2 TD’s on 25 carries. Boyd is still the leading rusher in the CFL this season and he’s easily been the MVP on the Argonauts team thus far. If Lemon can continue improving over the course of the season and Boyd continues doing what he’s been doing, I think the Argonauts will have an excellent chance at making a push in the postseason this year.

CFL Betting Picks
Montreal has been averaging more then 10 points per game more then the Argonauts this season, but I think this game is going to be a lot closer then the last game between these two teams. Toronto was blown out in Montreal and I’m sure it’s still fresh in most of the player’s minds. Toronto is going to be playing in front of their home crowd this weekend and will be looking for revenge. The Argos haven’t had any luck against the Alouettes recently and are 0-5 ATS the past 5 games they’ve played against each other.
The last game between these two teams had a total of 51 points, but I think it’s going to be a bit higher then that this weekend. I expect the Argonauts to score more then 10 points at home and the Alouettes always seem to put up 25-30 points. The trends point to this game going under, but I’m going to go against the grain and take the over. Both teams have momentum coming into the game and neither team have any serious injuries to contend with. It should be a great game this weekend between these two teams and I can’t wait to watch the action Saturday night.
