CFL Week 6 – Toronto Argonauts vs. Edmonton Eskimos Lines & Picks

The Toronto Argonauts (3-2) will travel across the country to play the Edmonton Eskimos (1-4) tonight at 10:00PM EST. It should be interesting to see how the Eskimos play tonight after firing their General Manager this past week. I was a little shocked to see the GM fired after the Eskimos first win last week, but I was glad to see them keep their head coach.

Toronto needs to bounce back this week from a rough loss against the Alouettes last week and they couldn’t have a better opponent to do that against. The Argonauts lost 41-10 last week and the entire team looked pretty bad the entire game. Cleo Lemon only ended up with 8 completions last week and that just isn’t going to work in the CFL. The only good thing was that Lemon didn’t throw any INT’s, but on the other hand he also didn’t throw any TD’s last week.

Ricky Ray had a good game against the Lions this past week and ended up throwing the ball for 360 yards and had 2 TD’s with just the 1 INT. The Eskimos RB Whitlock also ended up breaking the 100 yard mark this past week, which was a great sign for the Eskimos offence. WR Stamps had another game with over 100 receiving yards and he has been one of the bright spots on the Eskimos team so far this season.

Argos RB Boyd had an off game this past week and barely broke the 50 yard mark, but he still leads the league in rushing. If Toronto wants to win tonight then they’re going to need to have Boyd on his game. Lemon is also going to need to really improve if they expect to come home with a victory. Edmonton may be 1-4, but they still have the tools to beat the Argonauts when Toronto isn’t playing their game.

Betting Picks

I can really see the Argonauts winning the game tonight against the Eskimos and can’t believe that Edmonton is favoured. I’ll be taking the points tonight and riding with my home team Argonauts and I can only hope that Lemon picks up his game. I think the running game should do fine against the Eskimos defence, but the difference in the game will be Lemon. If he can throw for over 250 yards and 2 TD’s tonight then the Argonauts walk away with this game easily.

I’m also going to be on the over tonight because I really think both offences break out. Whenever you have two teams that have trouble scoring they usually post up a lot of points when they play against each other. All of the trends are pointing to this game going under, but the trends haven’t been very friendly to us this season. I’m going to go against the grain and take the over tonight.
