We started off the week alright, but I was surprised to see the Blue Bombers and Stampeders do so well. Next week we’re going to try and have a great week and make up for the past couple weeks. There are definitely a few changes for the CFL power rankings this week and I’m sure we’re going to see multiple changes for most of the season.

This week I’ve got the Montreal Alouettes (3-1) at the top of my power rankings. They started the season off slow with a loss, but they’ve fought back hard with three straight victories. Montreal had no problem taking care of Hamilton this week in a 37-14 win and I can’t wait until they play the Argonauts this upcoming week.

After watching the Calgary Stampeders (3-1) tear apart the Roughriders this past week they’ve taken over the #2 spot this week in my power rankings. The Stampeders probably won’t stay in the top 2 rankings very long, but they definitely deserve it this week after beating Saskatchewan 40-20.

Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-1) lost their first game of the season this past week against Calgary. They started week 4 at the top of my power rankings and they’ve now fallen to #3 on the list. The Roughriders struggled this past week and they need to have a bounce back game against the Tiger-Cats this upcoming week.

Nobody would have guessed that the Toronto Argonauts (3-1) would be in the position they are. They’re currently tied with the Alouettes in 1st in the East and have been getting better every game. The Argonauts have the best rushing game in the league right now and their defence isn’t that bad either.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers (2-2) needed to win this past week and they did just that. Backup QB Jyles had a great game and lead the Blue Bombers to a 47-21 victory. Winnipeg is tied with Montreal in scoring this season with 137 points already in just four games, but they’ve given up 114 points.

B.C. Lions (1-3) have started the season off on the wrong foot and need to start winning games. They haven’t won a game at home yet and they won’t get a chance next week. The good news for Lions fans is that they’ll be playing the Eskimos next week, which are the worst team in the CFL this season.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats were expected to be a good team this season, but things haven’t been clicking yet. Hamilton is 1-3 and currently sitting in the basement of the East Division. Hamilton hasn’t been able to get the job done on the road this season and it won’t get easier next week, as they need to travel to Regina.

If you’ve been watching any CFL this year then you’ll know that the Edmonton Eskimos (0-4) have been the worst team in the league by far. They haven’t looked good at all this season and I’m sure there will be plenty of changes taking place in the organization over the course of the season. Edmonton is desperately looking for a win and they’ll have a good chance this upcoming week when they host the Lions.
