Toronto Argonauts (6-7) travel west for a showdown with the Saskatchewan Roughriders (9-4) this Saturday. Both teams played last week with the only difference being the venue, as the Argonauts played host last weekend. Saskatchewan won the game last weekend on the road by a score of 27-16 and managed to clinch a spot in the playoffs with the victory, which makes them the 3rd team to have clinched a playoff spot already.
The Argonauts looked flat in the 1st half of last week’s game, but looked even worse by the 2nd half. Lemon didn’t play in the game due to an injury and Bell played in his place and managed to complete 16 of 24 passes for 153 yards. He completed a good amount of his passes last week, but he didn’t have any TD’s and only a hair over 150 passing yards, which isn’t going to cut it in the CFL. It was nice to see Boyd get the running game going last week though, as he managed to gain 145 yards on 20 carries.
Durant and Fantuz both played great last week, but the rest of the offence wasn’t that focused. Durant completed 29 of 37 passes for 310 yards and 2 TD’s with Fantuz catching 6 of those passes for 114 yards and 1 TD. The running game looked flat and Cates only managed to gain 18 yards on 7 carries, which is horrible in the CFL. Durant ran the ball 7 times as well and did much better then Cates, as he gained 47 yards and 1 TD.
Lemon will be back from his concussion this week, but it was noted by Coach Barker that he would pull Lemon if he senses that he isn’t on his game early and will put in Bell. Both QB’s are average at best, so I really don’t think it matters who he uses although I’d still prefer to see Lemon under centre if I had the choice between the two players. The most important piece to success for the Argos this week will be Boyd.

Predictions
Saskatchewan is 6-0 at home this season and I have little doubt that they’ll win this game, but I don’t think they’re going to walk away with the game like the bookies seem to suggest. I’ll be taking the Argonauts this week and the +11.5 points, as I think that many points is a gift. Toronto has a lot more to play for this week then the Roughriders and with their playoff chances slipping from their grasp they should be fired up for this game. I also like the game to go over the total although the Argos don’t seem to have much going on offence. I think with the low scoring game last week a lot of people will ride the under again this week, but with Lemon back in the line-up I think we should have at least 1-2 TD’s from him, which is better then the donut put up by Bell last week.
My Picks – Argonauts +11.5 & Over 49
