Edmonton Eskimos (4-9) will travel to Ontario this weekend to take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-7). These two teams met last week in Edmonton and the Eskimos managed to win a very close game by the score of 37-35. Now that the game is in Hamilton, I really think the Ti-Cats should walk away with the win, but as we all know anything can happen. Both teams are fighting for the playoffs and could use the victory, so it should be a really hard fought game to kick the weekend off.
Last week these two teams played a great football game that was close the entire way through. The game was tied at half, but Edmonton managed to outscore Hamilton in the 3rd quarter (3-2) and the 4th quarter (10-9) to secure a 2-point victory. Both QB’s looked great with Glenn completing 26 of 37 passes for 294 yards, 2 TD’s and 1 INT while Ray ended the game going 28 of 36 through the air for 384 yards and 2 TD’s.
Cobb had 15 carries in the game for Hamilton and gained 101 yards, which was much better then the two Eskimo RB’s who only combined for 69 yards rushing on 21 carries. Defence didn’t play much of a role in this game and I’m not confident that they’ll be able to pick it up this week, so expect another fairly high scoring game this week. One thing I noticed from last week was that the Eskimos needed to settle for a lot of FG’s, which didn’t hurt them last week, but could hurt them this week.
Hamilton leads most offensive stats coming into this game except for rushing, which is where the Eskimos have a small advantage over the Ti-Cats. If Glenn continues to air out the ball like he has been all season long then I think the Ti-Cats will prove to be a little too much for the Eskimos at home.

Predictions
I can’t take away from the performance put forth by the Eskimos last week, but at the same time I don’t think they’ll be able to replicate that again this week on the road. Hamilton has been home all week and I’m sure the only thing they have on their mind is revenge in this game. The –6 points is a bit more then I wanted to bet initially, but I just can’t see Edmonton keeping this one as close this week. Expect Cobb to gain another 100+ yards and as long as the Ti-Cats can shutdown WR Stamps, they should have no problem keeping the Eskimos offence stagnant.
I don’t really like the over in this game that much, but I’ll be placing a small wager on the over this week. Both teams scored 72 points last week and although that won’t happen again most likely, I do expect there to be some scoring. It wouldn’t surprise me if the final score were around 33-23 this week in favour of the home team.
