Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-6) are taking on the Edmonton Eskimos (3-9) this evening in a crucial game for the Eskimos. Edmonton needs a win badly, as the Lions won their game last night against the Blue Bombers. Hamilton on the other hand could increase their lead over the Argonauts for 2nd place in the East Division. Hamilton hasn’t done that well against the West Division this year and only has a 1-3 record.
Edmonton is coming off of a big win against the Argonauts last week 24-6. Ricky Ray was efficient and although he didn’t throw a TD pass the entire game he did complete 21 of 27 passes for 188 yards. The big story of the game was the running duo of Lester and McCarty who ended the game with a combined 149 rushing yards and 2 TD’s. Stamps also had a great game with 6 catches for a total of 80 yards.
Hamilton played well last week against the Roughriders, but some costly turnovers ended up costing them the game. Glenn went 26 of 35 for 336 yards and 2 TD’s, but 2 INT’s didn’t help his team out at all. Cobb also could have had a great game, but 2 fumbles ended up taking away from his 166 rushing yards on 15 carries. The defence couldn’t shut down Durant or Cates most of the game and Saskatchewan was able to gain over 500 yards on offence, which can’t happen again this week.
The key to this game will be whether or not the Eskimos can contain Glenn and the passing game. Hamilton will also need to make sure they don’t make nearly as many turnovers as last week if they expect to leave Edmonton with a win. The Eskimos should be able to put up some points on Hamilton, as the Ti-Cats don’t have much talent on defence.

Betting Predictions
Hamilton has a tendency to play well when they travel to Edmonton, as they have a 5-0 ATS record in their past 5 games in Edmonton. The Ti-Cats also have a 10-1 ATS record the past 11 games against Edmonton. Edmonton has been playing better football as of late though and they definitely have a chance to keep it close this week, which is why we’re seeing a low spread of only –1.5 points. I tend to lean to the Eskimos in this spot, as they’ll be playing every game like it’s their last game. Home field advantage should play a role and I think the Eskimos will win a close game.
Both teams are going to score this evening and I’m on the over in this game and like it better then the Eskimos play. Ti-Cats don’t have anyone on defence and Ricky Ray should be able to find Stamp and the other receivers without any problems. Glenn is having a great season and although the 2 INT’s were costly last week he still had 2 TD’s and moved the ball downfield against a defence that is much better then the Eskimos defence.
