CFL Week 13 – Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Saskatchewan Roughriders (7-4) travel east to Ontario for a Saturday match-up against Hamilton Tiger-Cats (6-5) in what’s sure to be an exciting game. Both teams have similar records, but have taken completely different paths to get where they’re at in this point in the season. Hamilton started the season off horribly, but has managed to climb back into contention and is sitting in 2nd place in the East Division right now. The Roughriders have been struggling the past few weeks, but they turned things around with a huge win over the Stampeders last week.

The Roughriders had a huge game last week against Calgary and they showed up to play. I was impressed with the amount of scoring by the Saskatchewan offence, but they need to do a better job of protecting the ball and stopping the other team. Last week Durant threw 1 INT, but he also had 2 fumbles in the game, which can’t happen this week on the road. WR Fantuz had a monster game last week with 10 receptions for 255 yards and 1 TD and if he continues like he did last week, Hamilton’s in trouble.

Hamilton also won the last week against the Lions in a close 35-31 game. They played better then they played the previous week in Montreal, but it was still a sloppy performance. It took a 19-point 4th quarter from the Ti-Cats to secure the victory last week and if they go down big against Saskatchewan this week, I don’t think they’ll be given the opportunity to catch up. Glenn and Cobb both had a good game last week, but most of their production came in the 4th quarter of the game.

These two teams have already met once this season and Saskatchewan walked away with a 37-24 victory at home. Hamilton I’m sure will want to tie the season series up and they should have a great shot to do so on Saturday. Saskatchewan is only 1-4 on the road this season including losses against Winnipeg and Edmonton, which are two teams they should beat. Hamilton is far better then the Bombers and Eskimos and the Roughriders will need to be on their game to compete this weekend.

Predictions

This game is going to be really close in my opinion and therefore I’m going to go with the small home favourite. Saskatchewan has been dreadful on the road all season and it hasn’t mattered where they’ve played. Hamilton is 3-2 at home and should be able to move to 4-2 after this weekend. Saskatchewan has owned Hamilton in the series going 7-3 ATS in the past 10 games played in Hamilton and 16-4-1 in the last 21 games played between these two teams anywhere. I think the public will hammer the underdog Roughriders in this game and I can see the Ti-Cats pulling it out in a close game.

CFL Betting is probably best at Bodog where they’ll offer most games and odds selections

Both teams have potent offences that started clicking last week and I think that’ll carry into this week. Hamilton lit up the Lions in the 4th quarter last week and Saskatchewan played well on offence the entire game last week. The defences have also been prone to giving up a lot of points this season with Saskatchewan giving up 304 points this season (2nd Worst in League) and Hamilton giving up 286 points. The over is 8-2-1 in the last 11 games played in Hamilton between these two teams and 19-7-1 the past 27 times these two teams have played anywhere.

My Picks – Tiger-Cats –1.5 & Over 53.5
