The Toronto Argonauts (5-3) will take a short bus ride south to take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-4) on Monday afternoon. This is a very important game and I’m sure the rivalry between these two teams will heat up on the field. With the East Division so tight right now the Argonauts could really use the win, as it would add a bit more separation between them and Hamilton. The Tiger-Cats look like they’re going to make the playoffs at the moment after a horrible start to the 2010 season.
Both of these teams are coming off of their bye week and in week 8 they played against each other. Hamilton won that game by a score of 16-12 in a rather uneventful match-up. Toronto held a 12-3 lead heading into the 4th quarter of the game, but they gave up 13 unanswered points in the quarter and threw the game away. With the game on Monday being played in Hamilton, it’s going to take a special effort from the Argonauts to win the game.
Hamilton’s QB Glenn has been having a productive season even though the Tiger-Cats are only playing .500 football. Glenn is 3rd in the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns at this point in the season and his numbers have only been getting better. The Argonauts QB Lemon has been playing mediocre this season at best and is currently 6th in the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns this season.
The two RB’s on these teams were used a lot in their previous match-up in week 8. Hamilton’s RB Cobb ran the ball 20 times for a total of 99 yards and 1 TD, while Argos RB Boyd carried the ball 16 times for 81 yards and 0 TD. If the Argonauts plan on winning this Monday they’re going to need to score TD’s rather then FG’s like they did in week 8.
Toronto Argonauts vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats –4
Toronto Argonauts vs. Hamilton Tiger-Cats O/U 50
Hamilton leads the Argonauts in most offensive stats this season including yards gained per game and points score per game. I’m going to place my money on the Tiger-Cats this week, as they have all of the momentum right now. Both teams will be rested, so there isn’t any advantage for either team in this category. Toronto has held the upper hand in this series over the past few seasons, but the Argos aren’t as good as they once were and Hamilton has only been improving.
Toronto is 6-2 in their past 8 games that they’ve played in Hamilton, which is a little bit worrying, but if you look at more recent match-ups these two teams are 3-3 ATS. The favourite has won the past 6 games between these two teams ATS and I think this trend is going to continue Monday afternoon. The under has gone 4-1 in the past 5 meeting between these two teams, but if you take a look at games played in Hamilton the over is 4-1 in the past 5 games. With a low point total of 50 and the fact this game is being played on the Labour Day holiday, which means the fans should be pumped and players should be looking to put on a show.
So time for some CFL betting and My Picks for this game is: – Hamilton –4 & Over 50. Bet at Bookmaker.com for the best odds.
