Cavs Top Spurs without LeBron

Much like the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers without Kobe Bryant, Cleveland Cavaliers have seldom had to play without their superstar in LeBron James.

LeBron is just one of those players that just doesn’t get injured is much as others despite his physical play and ability to play above the rim which have caused some players like Vince Carter to sit on the bench plenty of times with nagging injuries.

Unfortunately, the Cavs had to do without their MVP candidate LeBron James over the past two games as he has had to sit out after turning his ankle this past weekend. The injury isn’t all that serious, at least in LeBron’s mind, as he has said he is due to go, but with injuries to Shaq (finger) and now after this game against the San Antonio Spurs to Antawn Jamison (knee) the Cleveland Cavaliers are take any chances and want their superstar to sit out until he feels there are no ill effects to his injured ankle.

Last month the same thing happened to the Los Angeles Lakers with Kobe Bryant has yet to sit out with multiple injuries, but the biggest of which was an injured ankle just like LeBron James. before Kobe went down he had played in 235 consecutive games for the Lakers which was an impressive streak to say the least. Even though Kobe’s been able to fight through injuries throughout his whole career be available play through them, ankle injury turned out to be just too much for the Black Mamba as they basically set out the entire month of February.

Despite not having the reigning NBA finals MVP in the lineup, the Lakers were able to win four of the five games without Kobe improved that they can get the job done without their best player.

The Cleveland Cavaliers on the other hand don’t look even as close to as good without LeBron as they lost their first game without King James against the Milwaukee Bucks this past Saturday night 92-85.

Of course it would be hard to play without a player that averaging 30 points and eight and half assists per game, but it doesn’t say much for the supporting cast they can’t win without their best player.

Even though the Cleveland Cavaliers didn’t really look all that good against the Milwaukee Bucks and their first game without LeBron James, they redeem themselves against San Antonio Spurs on Monday night with a 97-95 victory.
