Turkish club Bursaspor needs to win a game soon or the club’s Championship League season will come to an end pretty quickly. They have a chance to take advantage of a weakened Manchester United squad as the two face off in Bursa on Nov.2nd

United will be without defender Rio Ferdinand, but that shouldn’t be seen as anything to worry about as he’ll probably be replaced by the much quicker and active Chris Smalling. However, there are some players United will actually miss and these will be strikers Wayne Rooney and Michael Owen along with midfielders Ryan Giggs, Antonio Valencia, and Owen Hargreaves. Manager Alex Ferguson has also left Gary Neville, Jonny Evans, Federico Macheda, and Anderson behind in England.

The game gives United a good chance to lock up a spot in the Champions League group stages with a win. Tomas Kuszczak could start in goal and Dmitar Berbatov and Javier Hernandez should spearhead the attack.

Bursaspor has their own injury problems with Ali Tandogan, Milan Stepanov, and Federico Insua all suffering from some minor aches and pains, but they should all be healthy enough to take part in the game.

United sits on top of Group C with seven points with three of them coming in a 1-0 win over Bursaspor at home at Old Trafford. United looked sluggish in that game, but have a pretty decent road record in Europe and have won seven of their past eight away matches in the competition.

Bursaspor sits on the bottom of the group as they’ve lost all three of their games so far. It’s the clubs first time in the Champions League, but it hasn’t managed to score a goal yet. They have two of their last three matches at home, so they need to basically win all three of them to advance.

The Turkish team is doing well in their league where they have a 10-game unbeaten string going after drawing 1-1 with Fenerbahce in their last game and sit on the top of the table.

Bursaspor vs Manchester United Betting Odds and Prediction

United has won four and drawn one of their last five games and seems to be getting in the swing of things. If Ferguson fields a strong team here in turkey they should be able to pull out a win. It may be a dull game, but a 2-0 win should see United reach the next stage of the Champions League. Hopefully Bursaspor will go all out for the three points to make this an interesting match.

Sportsbook William Hill has the odds of a United win listed at 8/11 while a Bursaspor victory is at 4/1 The odds of a draw are 5/2. A 2-0 United win is going at 7/1.
