The New York State Department of Correctional Services has denied Plaxico Burress’ plea for work release.

The former Giants Super Bowl hero made the request just a few months into his two-year sentence for carrying an illegal handgun into a Manhattan nightclub last November and then accidentally shooting himself in the leg like a complete amateur.

Burress, 32, can appeal the decision within 30 days and will be able to re-apply for work release in July. With good behavior, he could see the outside as soon as next Spring.
