Preview: The Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants will get together for the final game of a three game series at AT+T Park along the bay. The Giants and Red Sox have split the first two games of the series. Boston will send John Lester to the mound, against the Giants ace – Tim Lincecum. Lester is 8-3 with a 3.03 earned run average on the season. Lester took a hard luck loss at Colorado in his last start, when he allowed 6 hits and 1 run in 6 innings. Lincecum is 8-2 with a 2.86 on the season, after winning the Cy Young in 2009. He has won his last three starts, after not winning in four straight decisions. The 26 year old right hander has a career record of 48-19. Boston has won seven of their last ten games, and moved to two games out of first place in the American League East, trailing the Yankees. The Red Sox have won 19 of 35 games on the road this season.

The Giants are 4-6 in their last ten. They have won 25 out of 38 at home in 2010. Look for the Red Sox offense, that ranks third in the major leagues with a .278 batting average, and 2nd in homeruns, with 99 and tops in runs batted in with 397 and runs scored 790. The Giants, as a team are batting .264, which is tenth in baseball, but have seen solid pitching, ranking 3rd with a 3.39 earned run average.
