BetUS Sportsbook Review

BetUS has been around since the early days of the offshore sportsbook boom, but they’re recently elevated themselves ahead of the pack to become one of the top choices for recreational players.  They’re becoming a very familiar name to casual sports fans due to their cutting edge marketing tactics and unique content offerings.  There have always been rumblings in the ‘wise guy’ community that BetUS isn’t particularly friendly to sharp action, but for the casual sports betting enthusiast they’re tough to beat.

Strong points
Weak points
  • wide variety of sports and proposition bets
  • US clients welcome
  • great resource for sports betting news and analysis
  • good reputation for prompt payouts and customer service
  • North American based regulatory and customer service infrastructure

The first thing that strikes you about BetUS is how much more actual content they have than their competitors.  While many books offer some handicapping stats or written content, BetUS makes it a focal point of their website.  They provide very well written and accurate handicapping analysis and sports news from a betting perspective.  Each major sport has their own ‘portal’ which actually provides good information and isn’t search engine bait.  This is a tactic that you can expect to see other sportsbooks emulate in the future.

The focus of the BetUS wagering mix is clearly directed at the recreational player in North America.  All of the basics are here including football, basketball, hockey, baseball, boxing, UFC as well as a decent assortment of soccer.  They make a perfunctory effort to address other European betting sports, but it’s evident that they’re aiming directly for the US based sports bettor.  Their racebook offers horse racing action from tracks all over the world.

Befitting their focus on the casual gambling demographic, it’s not surprising that BetUS places a strong emphasis on their casino and poker offerings.  The casino offers an excellent variety of casino games both traditional and unique.  The poker room may not be as full featured and busy as dedicated poker sites, but it’s much more than the afterthought that it is at many books.  BetUS also offers specific bonuses and promos for the casino and poker player.

If you’re a ‘sharp’ player, you’re better served going elsewhere but for the North American recreational player there’s not much negative to say about BetUS.  They’ve got a player friendly website, a wide variety of wagering events, and a ton of bonuses and promotions.  BetUS is clear about the demographic they seek, and does an excellent job of servicing that market segment.
