Sports betting enthusiasts are preparing for a huge weekend with countless wagering opportunities in a myriad of sports.  Of particular interest is Saturday’s Kentucky Derby and an excellent boxing match between Floyd Mayweather, Jr. and Shane Mosley.  We’ll have our analysis and selections on both events later tonight, as well as all of the hoops, hockey, baseball and even some soccer throughout the weekend. MILWAUKEE BREWERS AT SAN DIEGO PADRES:

On paper, this game is a complete mismatch and we’re all over the home team at a very reasonable favorite price.  San Diego has been tearing it up this year, and lead the NL West with a 14-8 record.  They’ve been dominant on their home field at Petco Park with an 8-2 record.  They’ve got the 3rd best ERA in the National League, and have won 11 of their last 13 games.  Clayton Richard will get the start tonight and although the Padres have lost 3 of his 4 starts he’s pitched reasonably well and has a 3.09 ERA in two home starts.

Milwaukee is something of a mess right now, currently fifth in the NL Central just 1/2 game up on last place Houston.  The Brewers have lost 6 of 7, including dropping 2 of 3 to the lowly Pittsburgh Pirates.  The Brewers are hitting the ball fairly well with a .278 betting average and 5.7 runs per game.  The only problem is that their opponents are averaging 5.7 runs per game against them and hitting .294.  They haven’t done quite as well against LHP, where they’re 3-5 on the year.  Dave Bush has pitched well in two road starts, but most of his impressive 1.38 road ERA is based on a 7 inning, 3 hit shutout performance against the dismal Pirates.   Great chance to take a much better team on their strong home field at a reasonable price.
