Derek Anderson Gets the Boot in Cleveland

No other team in the NFL besides maybe the Detroit Lions have been more disappointing than the Cleveland Browns. at least the Detroit Lions have an excuse as they have been trying to develop young talent like wide receiver Calvin Johnson and promising young quarterback Matthew Stafford, but the Cleveland Browns were one of the better teams in the league back in 2007 with Derrick Anderson coming out of virtually nowhere and leaving the team to 10 wins.

Back in 2007 the Cleveland Browns are making headlines almost on a weekly basis as they seem like one of the most promising young teams in the league led by quarterback that could be a perennial Pro Bowler in Derrick Anderson, but the success the short-lived as wide receiver Braylon Edwards went from a Pro bowl caliber wideout to the one receiving leader draws more balls than any other player and Anderson slipped back into mediocrity.

Cavs Top Spurs without LeBron

Much like the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers without Kobe Bryant, Cleveland Cavaliers have seldom had to play without their superstar in LeBron James.

LeBron is just one of those players that just doesn’t get injured is much as others despite his physical play and ability to play above the rim which have caused some players like Vince Carter to sit on the bench plenty of times with nagging injuries.

Unfortunately, the Cavs had to do without their MVP candidate LeBron James over the past two games as he has had to sit out after turning his ankle this past weekend. The injury isn’t all that serious, at least in LeBron’s mind, as he has said he is due to go, but with injuries to Shaq (finger) and now after this game against the San Antonio Spurs to Antawn Jamison (knee) the Cleveland Cavaliers are take any chances and want their superstar to sit out until he feels there are no ill effects to his injured ankle.

Allen Iverson has Problems!

This season has been an absolute nightmare for future Hall of fame guard Allen Iverson as absolutely nothing has worked out in his favor from bouncing around team to team, no interest throughout the league being a free agent for the first time in his career, his four-year-olds illness and most recently his divorce to his wife Tawana Iverson.

nothing can be worse for professional athlete than when nobody wants you and you still think you can play at a high level. That has to be painful and frustrating and for Allen Iverson, along with everything else he has had to endure off the court, it may have been just too much to handle as it is just come out that the 11-time All-Star and former NBA MVP is having problems with alcohol and gambling.

Lakers Drop Third Straight in NBA Finals Rematch

For the first time since acquiring Pau Gasol a few years back in the trade with the Memphis Grizzlies, the defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers have lost three straight games after the Orlando Magic were able to get the best of Kobe Bryant and company in this NBA finals rematch at Amway Arena in Orlando this past Sunday 96-94.

It seems to matter how well or how bad the Lakers play lately, there games only seem to come down to a last second shot by Kobe Bryant. Fortunately, there is no other player in the league is better taken a last second shot in Kobe Bryant and the Lakers don’t frown upon put the ball in his hands when the game is on the line, but even though Kobe has been clutch throughout this whole season and in the last three games, the defending champs have not been nailed come out with a win in question surrounding whether or not they are going to be able to compete for another NBA title this season are starting to circulate.

Michael Finley Signs with the Boston Celtics Michael Finley was by no means a dominant player in this league when he was on his game with the Dallas Mavericks earlier in his NBA career, but is a solid complementary player at the shooting guard position with the ability to hurt you in the paint with his patent powerful drop step dunks and a good outside shot.

Could Dallas Make a Play for LeBron this Summer? LeBron James to the Dallas Mavericks is a stretch, but with Mark Cuban calling the shots in Dallas, I believe the Mavericks will looking to drastically improve their roster this summer.

Dallas Mavericks Win Ninth Straight Game Sometimes winning streaks like the Mavs current nine game stretch can be misleading as it could come against some of the worst teams in the league, but seven of the nine wins have come against playoff bound teams like the Phoenix Suns, Orlando Magic, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, New Orleans Hornets and the Charlotte Bobcats.

Michael Finley’s Future Could be with the Boston Celtics There is no mistaking that Michael Finley is over the hill and in the twilight of NBA career, but he can still be useful in the right system on the right team and the Boston Celtics believe that they are the right team and might be willing to sign him for the rest of the season as they try to contend with the likes of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks come playoff time.
