Everything is bigger in Texas – including the fight cards. Bellator Fighting Championships returns to The Lone Star State on Friday, March 23^rd with a completely stacked night of fights at Bellator 62 from the Laredo Energy Arena in Laredo, Texas. The night will feature the long-awaited rematch between “The American Soldier” Eric Prindle (@EricPrindleMMA) and Thiago “Big Monster” Santos (@BigMonsterMMA) to determine a winner from last season’s heavyweight tournament. The night’s main event, which was originally scheduled for Bellator 61 on March 16, was moved to this Friday because of a commission mandate due to Prindle battling flu-like symptoms. Despite the minor setback, “The American Soldier” is itching to not only get his hands on Santos, but to get that heavyweight gold.

“I’m just ready to get into the cage and end this,” Prindle said. “I’m a warrior and want my shot against Konrad.”

We’re getting closer to the grudge match between Jon Jones and Rashad Evans for the UFC light heavyweight championship. There’s been a lot of talking between the two. Here’s a sample of what the fighters have said.

Jon ‘Bones’ Jones, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, said: “My title defense at UFC 145 will be the biggest fight the UFC has seen in years. Sports fans from around the world will want to tune in for this Pay-Per-View, as they know it will be an all-out war.

“My opponent and I have a storied history that has been well-documented. He thinks he knows everything I bring to the table, but a lot has changed since he left the gym a year ago. I’m a much different fighter than the one he trained with. I hope he is ready to see and feel that difference.

Should UFC fighters fight their friends in the Octagon? Their teammates? It seems like the debate has been growing steadily for the last year or so.

Dana White succinctly explains to Sportv why the idea that teammates and/or friends shouldn’t fight is foolishness.

“This is not baseball or football. (Anderson Silva’s team Blackhouse) is not actually a team. They train together, spend time together, but they are not a team that plays together. I want Anderson to tell me if I’m wrong – he has the belt, fame, money, and that is why there are many guys who want to be Anderson Silva, including guys on his team and his friends. Many of his friends would love to have the belt and should try to fight him for it. If they have to fight, it does not mean cannot be friends. It’s business, it’s what they do for a living.”
