Bayern Munich heads home to Allianz Arena in Germany with a 1-0 lead over Inter Milan after beating them 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League round-of-16 clash in Italy. Mario Gomez scored the winning goal in the 90th minute in that match.
Bayern Munich has lost three of their last five matches as they’ve been struggling in the Bundesliga. However, they hammered Hamburg 6-0 on Sunday and will be going into this leg as high as a kite. Of course, this is a rematch of last year’s European Champions League Final which Inter won 2-0. Bayern is halfway there when it comes to the revenge factor, but a one goal lead can disappear in a matter of seconds.

Spurs take slender lead into home game against Milan
Tottenham Hotspur head into their Champions League second leg game at home on March 9th against AC Milan with a 1-0 lead from the first leg in Italy. The lead is as slender as it gets, but the English side does have an important away goal and will go through with a draw. Milan will be without captain Gennaro Gattuso who lost his head in the first leg and earned himself a four-game suspension for head butting Spurs assistant Joe Jordan.
Mathieu Flamini isn’t a fan favourite at Spurs either as his reckless tackle knocked Vedran Corluka out of action with an injured ankle.

European Champions League preview Shakhtar Donetsk v Roma
Shakhtar Donetsk takes a 3-2 lead over Roma heading back to the Ukraine for the second leg of their Champions League showdown on March 8th. The one goal lead might not seem like very much, but the three away goals sure are.
Shakhtar has had some success in Europe before as they won the UEFA Cup in 2009, but were knocked out of the Champions League last year during the third round of qualifying. They’ve gotten back on the right track again this year and did well in the group stages by winning theirs. Not bad considering Arsenal was in the group.

Arsenal looking to take out Barcelona in Champions League action
Arsenal may be taking a 2-1 lead with them back to Spain as they face Barcelona at the Nou Camp on March 8th in their second leg Champions League game, but Barcelona may have the advantage here because of their away goal. Arsenal shocked the Spanish league leaders a couple of weeks ago by turning a 1-0 deficit into a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium in London, England.
The big thing here will be seeing how each team can overcome their injuries. Arsenal hasn’t been too good of a job lately with a league draw at home against Sunderland on March 5th and by losing the Carling Cup Final 2-1 against Birmingham a week earlier at Wembley.
